You're reading: Electrical power supply resumed in some parts of Luhansk

The situation in Luhansk is calm on Sept. 15, there is no shooting in the streets and, according to locals, electricity supply has resumed in some buildings, the press service for the city council has reported.

“In addition, electricity is now being supplied to pump and sewage stations to restore water supplies. Maintenance work continues in the city: electricians are working on the city’s power lines which were damaged by shooting. Housing and utilities sector workers are cleaning the city districts,” the city council said in a report released on Sept. 15.

The situation with the absence of mobile and landline communications in Luhansk remains unchanged: it has not been restored yet.

“City residents are saying that the range of food products has grown in the city. Some pharmacies have opened and the supply of medicine has been resumed. Fuel is being brought to Luhansk only by private suppliers,” the city council said.

The report says that wages, pensions and social benefits have not been paid in the city for a long time and people are out of money. “This problem is now extremely acute and has not been resolved yet,” the city council said.
