Ihor Tsyhanok, who defrauded Kyivans of $100 million, found guilty.
Ihor Tsyhanok, General director of Elita Center, hears his sentence for fraud in the cell of a Kyiv court on March 16. Tsyhanok received 11 years in prison for defrauding 1,756 residents of Kyiv in a real estate scam uncovered in 2006. Victims lost an estimated $100 million when they invested into construction of properties in the capital’s center.
