The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, while referring to the embassies of Serbia and Macedonia, has denied reports in Ukrainian and foreign media about an alleged Ukrainian citizen who was forcibly detained in Kosovo and forced to engage in prostitution.

“According to the results of preliminary checks conducted by the Ukrainian embassies in Serbia and Macedonia, the competent authorities of these countries have not currently confirmed this case,” the ministry said on Thursday.

At the same time, Ukrainian diplomatic institutions are continuing to take measures to further verify this information.

Macedonian media earlier reported that a Ukrainian woman, who requested anonymity, had escaped from the harem, which, she said, was arranged by Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.

The woman claimed that dozens of “slaves,” including from Russia, China and Cameroon, were serving not only the prime minister, but also other politicians and businessmen.
