The State Tax Service of Ukraine in Kyiv in August increased excise tax payments to the general fund of the national budget by 71%, to UAH 18.9 million.
“This result was achieved thanks to the measures taken to combat the illicit production and sale of alcohol, as well as the increase in excise duty on alcoholic drinks of 8.9%,” the press services said.
In January-August 2012, excise tax revenues totaled UAH 119.1 million, which is 16% up on 2011.
