You're reading: Fairmont Grand Hotel in Kyiv to open in spring 2012

The five-star Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv with 258 rooms at 1A Naberezhno-Khreschatytska Street in Kyiv will open in the spring of 2012, according to the official Web site of Fairmont Hotels&Resorts.

According to the report, the hotel will have a conference hall of 1,210 square meters, a ballroom of 480 square meters, and a SPA complex.

Kyiv-based Yaroslaviv Val is realizing a project to build the five-star Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv.

In April 2008, Yaroslaviv Val Managing Director Andriy Manzhelei reported that the cost of the hotel’s construction was about $150 million.

According to a company financial report published in the information disclosure system of the State Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, Yaroslaviv Val Ltd. in 2010 saw a 1.5% rise in net losses from 2009, to Hr 18.2 million, while its net income in 2010 grew by 3.2 times, to Hr 140.1 million.

Yaroslaviv Val Ltd. is engaged in the construction of commercial real estate, namely office centers and hotels.

Yaroslaviv Val was founded by OJSC Venture Closed Non-Diversified Corporate Investment Fund Unibudinvest (Kyiv), whose share in it was 95.11%, while Leonid Yurushev owned 4.74% and Natalia Yurusheva owned 0.15%.

Unibudinvest was established in 2003. Its core business is investment related to mergers and investment of investors’ funds in securities of other issuers, corporate rights and real estate.

The first hotel of the Fairmont Hotels&Resorts chain was opened in San Francisco in 1907. The chain includes more than 60 hotels around the world.
