The situation is not quiet in Donetsk on Thursday afternoon, July 24, with residents of the Kyivsky, Kirovsky and Petrivsky districts reporting sounds of artillery fire, the Donetsk city council said on its website on Thursday, July 24.

“Presumably, the fighting is taking place in the village of Pisky and
in Maryinka district (in the Donetsk region),” the statement said.

The city council also gave details of an overnight shelling of the
city’s Petrivsky district. “Eleven houses and seven streets in the
private sector have been damaged. Specialists travelled to the scene to
assess the damage. One person (a man born 1985) was injured and taken by
paramedics to a hospital,” the city council said.

Shells damaged a gas pipeline in Voikova Street but it is now being
repaired. Moreover, windows were damaged in two secondary schools;
partial damage has been caused to the roof and windows of a
kindergarten.
