Ukraine’s former president and Orange Revolution leader Viktor Yushchenko has urged the European Union to reopen dialogue with the country or risk seeing it become a “second Belarus”, cut off from the west.
Mr. Yushchenko said EU states should end a “pause” in talks on
Ukraine’s closer integration into Europe caused by the imprisonment of
his one-time Orange ally, Yulia Tymoshenko, and concerns over reversals of democracy in the country.
