A fire at the Komsomolska coalmine of Antratsyt state-run enterprise (Luhansk region) has been extinguished, the press service of the State Service for Mining Supervision and Industrial Safety has reported.

According to initial reports, smoke formed in the mine due to a fire in electric cables. A special inquiry panel has been created at the enterprises to establish the cause of the fire,” the text read.

As reported, smoke was reported in the Komsomolska coalmine in the town of Antratsyt on Thursday at about 0600. During the incident, 249 people were in the coalmine, of whom 19 were in the section affected by smoke.

All of the coalminers were evacuated to the surface. Work at the coalmine was halted.
