You're reading: First Vice Speaker’s salary almost equal to pension, according to income declaration

The gross income of Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Chairman Adam Martyniuk, who is also a member of the Communist Party of Ukraine, for 2011 amounted to Hr 487,400, the parliament’s Holos Ukrainy newspaper reported on April 3.

In accordance with his declaration of property, income, expenses and financial liabilities filed by him in accordance with Ukrainian law, his salary for 2011 amounted to Hr 235,300, pension – Hr 213,200 and financial assistance – Hr 38,800.

"His wife had no revenues in connection with her leave to care for her granddaughter," the newspaper reported.

According to the newspaper, Martyniuk’s family temporarily lives in a state villa, has a non-privatized 85.5-square-meter apartment, and owns a land plot of 1,200 square meters. Total spending on the maintenance of all property in 2011 amounted to Hr 40,700.
