A serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces died of wounds sustained in the explosion of a mine near the Spirne locality (the Donetsk Oblast) and another four servicemen suffered bodily injuries, head of the communications department of the National Police Main Directorate in the Luhansk Oblast Tatiana Pohukay said.

The dead body of the serviceman was delivered to the Svatove forensic mortuary (the Luhansk region), Pohukay said in the National Police Main Directorate’s report on Facebook on Wednesday. He suffered lethal fragmentation wounds triggering a booby trap at about 3 p.m. on Feb. 2 when on patrol in the territory near the Spirne locality in the Artemivsk district of the Donetsk Oblast. Meanwhile, four servicemen sustained bodily injuries and were taken to the military hospital in the town of Svatove.

This incident was put on the common registry of pre-trial inquiries and was classified under the charge of ‘a terrorist act’.
