The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is not disclosing the details of talks on the release of Ukrainian citizen Anhar Kochneva who is held by Syrian rebels in order to ensure her safety.
“I can confirm that work is being constantly conducted to free a
Ukrainian citizen, who is held by armed groups in Syria. I would like to
refute accusations against the Foreign Ministry regarding its
inactivity in this issue. It’s a very delicate issue, and any leak of
information could harm the Ukrainian woman,” he said at a briefing on
Tuesday.
As reported, Ukrainian journalist Anhar Kochneva was abducted by the
gunmen of the so-called free Syrian army in Syria in October. The
kidnappers of the journalist threatened to kill her on December 13 if a
ransom of $50 million is not paid.
