You're reading: Foreign Ministry: OSCE military observers again fail to enter Crimea

Military observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) were again not let into Crimea on Friday, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis has said.

He said that on Friday the OSCE mission again tried to get to Crimea, but was not let through checkpoints guarded by armed men.

As reported, unidentified gunmen on Thursday stopped an OSCE group
near the town of Armiansk and said that that movement within the
autonomy required a permit from its new leadership.

An OSCE verification mission of 40 observers from 21 OSCE countries is in Ukraine from March 5 to March 12.

The program of their stay includes visits to military facilities of
the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.
