Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has recommended that Ukrainians temporarily not travel to some Egyptian cities due to the security situation in the country.

“Because of the worsening of the security situation in Egypt, the Foreign Ministry recommends that Ukrainians review their plans regarding trips to southern Sinai, Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailia, Port Said, and Suez,” acting director of the Foreign Ministry’s information policy department Yevhen Perebyinis said.

He also added that in order to escape threats to life and health, Ukrainian citizens who are now spending holidays in the tourist cities of Egypt shouldn’t leave the territories of their hotels, and also avoid non-organized trips to cities or beyond their bounds.

Moreover, the ministry recommends Ukrainians now in Egypt avoid visiting places where large numbers of people gather, not to participate in the rallies and demonstrations, and not get involved in disputes with the local population concerning the religious and political situation in Egypt.

“According to the information from Ukraine’s Embassy in Egypt, there are no Ukrainians among the injured as a result of the disorder,” Perebyinis said.
