You're reading: Foreign Ministry resolves situation with Ukrainian children stranded on Bulgarian border without visas

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has settled the situation with members of children's folk group, who have stuck on the border of Macedonia and Bulgaria due to the absence of duly executed visas.

“The kids received visas, after which they were met by our Consul in Bulgaria who accompanied them to the border,” Interfax-Ukraine learned at the Foreign Ministry’s press service.

According to their information, children’s groups have already crossed the border with Romania. Border guards have been notified about their arrival, the Foreign Ministry assured.

On Sunday, August 19, a group of Ukrainian children, members of folk groups, was unable to cross the Bulgarian border for transit while on their way to the Ukraine, as they did not have the necessary visas. It turned out, the children had previously been granted single-entry visas so they could not cross the Bulgarian border for the second time on their way home.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is trying to find out how it happened that the children’s visas were inappropriately executed.
