Since Ukrainian journalist Anhar Kochneva was abducted in Syria over two months ago, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has been taking all of the necessary measures to free her, ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov has told Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that Kochneva was being held by an armed group in Syria, and that during the period of her captivity, different members of this armed group were making different, sometimes conflicting, demands regarding her release.

“The Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the United Nations, the Arab League, the Red Cross, with the involvement of more than ten of our foreign partners, is conducting continuous political and diplomatic work to release Kochneva,” Dykusarov said.
