You're reading: Foreign Ministry: Ukrainians injured in road accident in Russia to be taken home

An aircraft of the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry will transport on Friday from a hospital in the Pskov region seven Ukrainian citizens who were injured in a road accident in this region, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“In order to provide assistance to Ukrainian citizens injured in a
road accident in the Pskov region on August 1, a plane of the Ukrainian
Emergencies Ministry is due to fly out to Pskov at about 1200 and take
seven Ukrainian citizens back home,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson
Oleksandr Dykusarov said.

He said that seven people were in a stable condition, they were
transportable, and that the plane would bring them to Ukraine on Friday.

Dykusarov also said that another Ukrainian who was injured in the accident remained in hospital.

“Our diplomats will monitor the progress of his treatment and provide
the necessary assistance to him. The Ukrainians will be accompanied by
medical staff during the flight,” he said.

As reported, a Mercedes Sprinter minibus with Ukrainian passengers
crashed into a Mitsubishi car in Pskov region at around 1930 Moscow time
on August 1.

Eight passengers of the bus were injured in the accident. The driver
of the Mitsubishi car died immediately at the scene of the crash.
