Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, having interfered in talks between Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission over the weekend, is inclined toward a gas war, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said following the conclusion of the talks late on June 15 evening.

“The Ukrainian prime minister is one of the authors of the approach to
gas sector relations we are seeing now. At the meeting yesterday there
were a lot of cliches, slogans and opinions. I am not going to give my
estimation of those opinions. But when the words ‘gas war’ are being
sounded right and left, that speaks to intentions,” Miller said at a
press conference at Interfax’s central office in Moscow on June 16.
