Moscow - Russian presidential adviser Sergei Glazyev said the U.S. sanctions cannot hurt him in any way.

Glazyev told Interfax on March 18 the U.S. sanctions will not influence him personally or his professional activities because nothing connects him to the U.S.

The EU and the U.S. earlier published “blacklists” of Russian and Crimean officials on whom sanctions have been imposed. Glazyev is on this list.

“Obama can also put millions of people who consider themselves Russian on this list,” Glazyev said.

Glazyev said he has many relatives and friends in Ukraine and people have never been divided based on ethnic origin there, but it has always been understood that there are Bandera-followers, who promote Nazi and fascist ideology and who “have always been and will always be enemies” of Russians and Ukrainians.

“Russia is not defending Russians now as Obama thinks. Russia is defending the people of Ukraine, regardless of ethnic origin, from fascists. It’s a surprise to me that Obama is a friend of fascists, but he can put the 20 million people who consider themselves Russian and live in Ukraine, and maybe even the entire population of Russia and even more,” Glazyev said.
