Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Mark Dybul have noted the progress made by Ukraine in combating HIV/AIDS.

“Ukraine appreciates the assistance being provided by the Global Fund
in order to fight HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. The positive results that
are observed in our state, especially in combating HIV/AIDS, clearly
demonstrate that many years of cooperation between the Global Fund and
Ukraine are successful,” Hryschenko’s press service quoted him as saying
at a meeting with Dybul in Geneva on Wednesday.

Dybul, in turn, said: “Ukraine is one of the few countries in the
region that has made significant progress in combating HIV/AIDS, and we
would like it to be an example to others.”

The sides also discussed the prospects for the implementation by
Ukraine of a grant agreement with the Global Fund over the next three
years.
