The European Council's decision to remove restrictions on the supply of non-lethal goods will allow Ukrainian soldiers to be provided with quality body armor from the EU, presidential representative for the peaceful settlement of the situation in the east Iryna Heraschenko has said.

“The European Council has made an important decision – restrictions
on the supply of non-lethal goods have been removed,” she said at a
briefing.

According to her, the existence of such restrictions hampered the
purchase of relevant goods and obtaining them as humanitarian aid.

“Legal entities, volunteers, and businesses faced a problem in that
for a long time they could not deliver protection means – helmets, body
armors and other similar products – to the army. They have been stuck at
customs for a long time,” the official said.
