The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) does not give any assessments to Russia's sending of humanitarian convoys to eastern Ukraine, head of the ICRC delegation to Ukraine Alan Ashliman said.

The ICRC as a neutral organization views it as important that aid is delivered to people; therefore, it does not assess the situation in terms of where this aid is coming from, he told a press conference when asked about the ICRC’s allegedly positive assessment of Russia’s delivery of humanitarian convoys to Ukraine.

He said that people have such large need for aid that no single organization can meet them. Therefore, all the efforts of different sides are very useful and are welcomed, he said, noting that the ICRC does not side with any party or position regarding how this should happen.
