Incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will seek reelection, the leader of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction, Ihor Hryniv, said.
“Do you have any doubt that Petro Oleksiyovych (Poroshenko) will run for a second term in office? As far as I understand it, there is no doubt. The president will run for a second term, and it is a tremendous and large responsibility,” Hryniv said in an interview with the Ukrainska Pravda online newspaper. An excerpt from the interview was published on Thursday morning.
Hryniv also said he was convinced Poroshenko was perfectly aware that it was “necessary to achieve extraordinary results” in order to be reelected as the country’s president.
