The Russian Ambassador to Ireland has warned the Government that Ireland will suffer serious economic consequences if it supports further European Union sanctions against the superpower. Maxim Peshkov said future restrictions imposed on Russia would be a "double-edged blade" for the Irish economy, which currently exports €637m worth of goods and services to Russia every year.
