Doctors have recommended that former Acting Defense Minister Valeriy Ivaschenko undergo an additional instrumental and laboratory examination, although ex-official's health condition is satisfactory, according to the press service of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine.

"On Jan. 11, Valeriy Ivaschenko was again examined by the commission at the medical unit of the detention facility in Kyiv. [The commission] recommended that he undergo an additional instrumental and laboratory examination. At the moment the health condition of Ivaschenko is satisfactory, and medical workers of Kyiv’s detention facility regularly examine him," reads the service’s press release.

Earlier, Ivaschenko’s lawyers addressed Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoliy Pryshko with a request to take the organization of treatment of their client under personal control in connection with a sharp worsening in Ivaschenko’s state of health.
