Donetsk - Television journalist Graham Phillips, a UK citizen, has been wounded in Donbas.

“Graham has sustained a shrapnel wound. A mine exploded not far from him. He was wounded in the side,” the militants told Interfax.

The source said the incident occurred near the populated area of Pisky, several kilometers north of Donetsk.

Phillips is now hospitalized in Donetsk. Doctors are not commenting on his condition but according to other eyewitnesses, his condition is fair.

Russia Today, Phillips’ employer, has confirmed that he has been wounded.

“Graham Phillips, a stringer for Russia Today, has been wounded,” Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Russia Today, said on Twitter on Monday, Nov. 24.

This is not the first incident involving Phillips in Ukraine. On May 20, he was detained by Ukrainian troops at a checkpoint in Mariupol. The Ukrainian Security Service then said the journalist has been detained “while filming secure facilities without authorization.” On May 22, the Briton was handed over to the British consul. Phillips continued working in Ukraine after being released.

On July 23, the militants said Phillips had gone missing in the area of Donetsk airport, where he had been filming a skirmish at night. On July 25, the Ukrainian Security Service said Phillips had been detained, questioned and expelled from Ukraine. The Ukrainian Security Service also said the journalist had been banned from entering Ukraine for three years.
