KHARKIV – Kostiantyn Sadovsky, the presiding judge in the hearings of the criminal case against former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) Corporation, refused to listen until the end of a speech by Tymoshenko's defender, Andriy Kozhemiakin, and left the courtroom for the decision-making room.

As reported by an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, the judge cut
Kozhemiakin off, as his speech had no essence, according to the judge.

Kozhemiakin’s microphone was off, but he continued speaking, after
which the judge stood up and left for the decision-making room.

The members of the BYT-Batkivschyna parliamentary faction helped cameramen and photographers enter the courtroom.

As reported, a glass barrier is installed in front of the dock.
Inside the glass cube around the dock there are a plasma screen, a table
with a microphone, two chairs, high indoor plants and two landscape
paintings.

There are five plasma screens in the courtroom.

A court official explained that the equipment was installed to make
it comfortable for those present to see who is speaking and to see
better the evidence shown in the courtroom.
