You're reading: Karasiov sees Arbuzov’s appointment as first vice premier as his preparation for future premiership

Political analyst Vadym Karasiov has said he believes that the appointment of Serhiy Arbuzov as first deputy prime minister in the new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is his preparation for premiership.

“The appointment of Serhiy Arbuzov as first deputy prime minister suggests that this Cabinet of Ministers is a transition government. It’s the Cabinet of Ministers with the prospect of Arbuzov’s premiership,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

Karasiov said that the goal of Arbuzov’s vice premiership was “to master the tools of economic development and administration as a young, but ambitious banker.”

“This is the Cabinet of Ministers of Arbuzov-Azarov, not Azarov-Arbuzov, because Azarov’s task is to use paternalism to teach Arbuzov the course of premiership and the uneasy management of the Cabinet of Ministers,” the analyst said.
