Hennadiy Kernes is leading the race for Kharkiv mayor's office, going 2% ahead of his closest rival Arsen Avakov with 39% of ballots counted.

According to Kharkiv city election commission, as of Tuesday morning, Kernes of the Party of Regions has scored 30.74% or 44,873 votes; Avakov of the Batkivschyna 28.59% or 41,679 votes; Alla Aleksandrovska of the Communist Party of Ukraine 18.34% or 26,826 votes. Yevhen Hutkov of the Strong Ukraine comes forth with 3.48%, followed by Andriy Bilohryschenko of the United Center with 2.87%.
