Representatives of the Russian intelligentsia have gathered at a Kyiv congress to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people in terms of the developing events and to tell the Russians about the mood in Ukraine, Russian politician Mikhail Khodorkovsky said.

“We gathered here for various reasons, but first of all, because we
don’t agree with the policies of Russian President Vladimir Putin
towards Ukraine. Besides, we gathered to express solidarity with the
Ukrainian people, who are being prevented from independently build their
lives,” he said at the opening of the congress “Ukraine-Russia:
Dialogue” on Thursday, as a correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine reported.

“We gathered also because we’re outraged at how Russian state
propaganda tells lies to our citizens: we want to tell people what we
really see and hear here,” the politician said.
