Release of detained in Russia Ukrainians Yuriy Soloshenko and Hennadiy Afanasiyev is an issue [we will be dealing with] for the next few weeks, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has said.

“Now I do hope that the next step will be the release of Soloshenko, who, as you know, is seriously ill, and, of course, Hennadiy Afanasiev. I think this is the issue for the next few weeks, “Klimkin said in the program ‘The Right for Power’ (Pravo na vladu) on ” 1 +1 “TV channel on May 27.

At the same time, he noted that it was too early to speak about conditions of release, since negotiations would be conducted up to the last moment.

In addition, Klimkin reported that after the verdict by the Supreme Court of the Chechen Republic against Ukrainians Mykola Karpiuk and Stanislav Klykh, Ukraine intended to expand the sanctions list of Savchenko and Sentsov, which includes judges, prosecutors, investigators and witnesses involved in illegal activities against such Ukrainians as Nadia Savchenko, Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko.

“We have a list we are going to expand,” Klimkin said.
