UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko has said that he will go to President Viktor Yanukovych for talks on Tuesday.
According to a statement posted on the Web site of the TVi channel on Tuesday, he said this at a briefing on European Square on Tuesday.
“Viktor Yanukovych promised me that he would resolve the situation, but he did not keep his promise. I will go to the president to get answers on five demands from the opposition that were earlier put forward,” Klitschko said.
As reported, after the clashes near the Dynamo stadium in Kyiv on Jan. 19, Klitschko went to Independence Square and said from the stage that he was planning to meet with Yanukovych in his residence in Mezhyhirya to convince the president “to stop escalating the conflict.”
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych ordered National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy Kliuyev to set up an ad hoc group with the participation of Cabinet and Presidential Administration representatives to settle the political crisis in the country.
