UDAR Party will demand an audit of the budget funds spent on preparations for and holding the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine, leader of UDAR Party Vitali Klitschko has said.

"When we’re starting to compare the estimates, we see that there are two countries, where the same championship is held. But the building of a stadium in Ukraine was one-and-a-half times more expensive than building a similar stadium in Poland. The cost of the all facilities in Ukraine, including the airport, was overstated. At the same time, the salaries in Poland are at the level of average European [salaries]," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"Unfortunately, this again proves the corruption of the present officials at all levels, in all spheres, including the officials in the sports sector. It seems that the money of the taxpayers wasn’t invested in infrastructure," UDAR leader said.

"I’m sure that soon or later society must hear a report on every penny of budget funds spent on Euro 2012. We as the opposition will demand this," Klitschko said.
