Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has informed Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski in a telephone conversation about the postponement of the Yalta summit of presidents of the Central and Eastern European countries earlier planned for May 11-12.

During the telephone conversation, Komorowski also talked with Yanukovych about "finding solutions allowing for progress in Yulia Tymoshenko’s case."

Komorowski also told Yanukovych that during the summit he planned to make an appeal for changes in the Ukrainian criminal legislation which would make it impossible to bring people to criminal responsibility for political activities. Due to the postponement of the summit, the Polish president will make this appeal on May 9.

As reported, a summit of Central and Eastern European states scheduled to take place on May 11-12 in Yalta has been postponed, after leaders of Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Bulgaria said they would not attend the event.
