Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Industrial and Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Natalia Korolevska has suggested creating a special parliamentary commission to draft an anti-crisis program to prevent a new wave of economic crisis.

"The country needs immediate anti-crisis measures, and parliament, in contrast to the government, should take active position in this issue," the MP’s press service cited Korolevska as saying on Wednesday.

"Our task is to prevent a second wave of the economic crisis from finally demolishing the country. We have to prove to society in practice, and not only by words, that we can protect every citizen. That is why I proposed to create a special parliamentary commission for drafting an anti-crisis program."

Korolevska added that anyone concerned about the country’s future, regardless of their political affiliation, should join the commission.

"We have no time to wait for anti-crisis actions from the government. As the government is unable to take responsibility for the country’s economy, parliament should take this responsibility," Korolevska said.

She noted that opposition representatives have submitted to the Verkhovna Rada over 100 bills on preventing economic crisis.
