You're reading: Kyiv exceeds accommodation plan for Euro 2012 fans by 26%

Hamalia Travel Company had booked 22,590 rooms for the accommodation of fans during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship as of early July 2011, which exceeds the number of rooms requested by UEFA by 26.1%.

A posting on the Web site of the Ukraine 2012 Information Center, with reference to the national agency on preparations for Euro 2012, reads that Donetsk has under fulfilled the plan of 14,240 rooms by 3.2%, and Lviv is falling behind the accommodation plan of 9,002 rooms by 22.8%. At the same time, Kharkiv exceeded the plan by 9.8% – the city has booked 11,060 rooms.

According to the information center, the cities that are to host the sports event are planning to cover a significant shortage of accommodation space by using dormitories, clinics, hostels, private apartments, and low-budget hotels, which are to be modernized and prepared for the Euro 2012 Championship.
