Kyiv Metropolitan municipal enterprise has asked Kyiv City Council to allocate Hr 1.75 billion from the city budget for development in 2010, Kyiv Metropolitan head Petro Myroshnikov said during a hotline in Kyiv on Jan. 21.

In particular, the enterprise asked for Hr 550 million to complete the construction of the Demiyivska, Holosiyevska and Vasylkivska subway stations on the Kurenivsko-Chervonoarmiyska line, the commissioning of which was planned for late 2008, and over Hr 300 million to continue work to construct a tunnel towards the Teremky residential area after these stations are opened.

Myroshnikov said that the tunnels between the Vasylkivska station and the Vystavkovy Kompleks station would be located one above the other due to the geological specifics of the district.

In addition, the company plans in 2010 to start the construction of a subway line to the Troyeschina residential area across the Dnipro river (the Podilsko-Vyhurivska line), to continue work to open the Lvivska Brama station, and to overhaul and equip with walkways the crossing between the Maidan Nezalezhnosti station and the Khreschatyk station.

"We have many plans, and Kyiv City Council will determine which plans will be realized [by approving the budget for the current year]," Myroshnikov said.
