You're reading: Kyiv reports nearly 30 militant attacks on Sunday

Militants opened fire nearly 30 times on the Ukrainian army positions in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in Donbas on Sunday, the ATO headquarters press center said on its Facebook page.

“In the Donetsk direction, the adversary has conducted a set of mortar attacks on our positions in the area of Avdiyivka, where they used [the mortars] of 120mm and 82mm calibers. Grenade launchers of various calibers and large-caliber machineguns were fired on Mayorske and Novoselivka Druha. The adversary again delivered a 152mm artillery gun strike on Arkhanhelske. The invaders used infantry fighting vehicles outside Svitlodarsk, fired an anti-tank missile system on Novoselivka Druha, over 40 tank rounds were again fired on Avdiyivka,” says a report as of 6 p.m. on Sunday.

In Mariupol direction, militants used heavy artillery weapons banned by the Minsk agreements on the Ukrainian army’s fortifications in Shyrokyne and Talakivka, over 60 122mm shells have been fired on Shyrokyne. The adversary fired grenade launchers and small arms in Novohryhorivka and Vodiane and used large-caliber machineguns in Maryinka, Kyiv said.

In Luhansk region the grenade launcher fire was opened on the positions in Novoaleksandrivka and Novozvanivka. The fire attacks on Stanytsia Luhanska continued with the use of 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and large-caliber machineguns, the Ukrainian military said.
