Militants in the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas attacked Ukrainian positions 19 times on July 29, the ATO headquarters reported.

“The Russian occupation forces continue violating the ceasefire in the ATO zone. Today, they’ve opened fire on Ukrainian positions 19 times,” the ATO HQ said in an update on July 29 evening.

The enemy used banned 122mm artillery systems and 120mm mortars to attack ATO forces stationed in the village of Nevelske in the Donetsk sector, the ATO HQ said.

Militants used 120mm and 82mm mortars to fire on Ukrainian troops in the village of Pisky near the ruined Donetsk airport, while 82mm mortars were used to shell the village of Opytne, while grenade launchers and large-caliber machine-guns were used to attack the villages of Luhanske, Novhorodske, and the town of Avdiyivka.

Illegal armed formations also used 82mm mortars in the Mariupol sector, shelling Ukrainian positions in the town of Krasnohorivka. What is more, they engaged an armored personnel carrier to attack ATO troops near the town of Maryinka. Grenade launchers and large-caliber machine-guns were used to shell the village of Starohnativka. The village of Hranitne was attacked with the use of small arms.

Militants in the Luhansk sector observed a relative ceasefire.
