You're reading: Kyiv says Donbas nationalization law undoing Minsk agreements

The Ukrainian party to the Trilateral Contact Group sees the "nationalization law" in the separate areas of Donetsk region as a complete dismantling of the Minsk agreements, according to Darka Olifer, press secretary to Leonid Kuchma who represents Ukraine in the Group.

“The economic subgroup started work by demanding explanations as to the ‘nationalization law’ in separate areas of Donetsk region, reports of which were made by several media outlets. The Ukrainian representative stressed: we regard such actions as a complete dismantling of the Minsk agreements,” Olifer wrote on her Facebook page after a Trilateral Contact Group meeting on June 29.

During the discussion, the representatives from Russia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe agreed that such actions are illegal and contradict the spirit of the Minsk accords, she said.

“After that, the Donetsk areas’ representative said the reports of the so-called nationalization were untrue,” Olifer said.
