You're reading: Kyiv to spend Hr 18 million on training doctors, police and stewards for Euro 2012

Taras Shevchenko National University and private enterprise Robot Intellect (Kyiv) have won a tender called by the Main Department of Education and Science of Kyiv City Council on the provision of language training for volunteers, stewards, service workers, medical personnel and law enforcement personnel for the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

Contracts on the provision of these services were signed on May 11, according to the announcement of the results of the tender published on the Web site of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry.

The cost of the contract with the Shevchenko University is Hr 5 million (excluding VAT), and that with Robot Intellect Hr 5.2 million.

The Main Department of Education and Science also signed a contract worth Hr 5.5 million with the Drahomanov National Pedagogical University on May 11 on the provision of practical training for volunteers and stewards for Euro 2012 in Kyiv.

At the same time, the Kyiv-based Ukrainian scientific and methodical center of practical psychology and social work will select volunteers and stewards for Euro 2012.

A contract with this institution signed on May 11 is worth Hr 1.71 million (excluding VAT).

In turn, Kyiv International University, a private higher educational institution, will receive Hr 500,000 to conduct a study of the international practice of organizing volunteer movements and working with young people in the countries that have staged large international sports events.
