The Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine has ruled on August 21, 2012 that the registration of football-player Andriy Shevchenko as a parliamentary candidate from the Ukraine-Forward! Party by the Central Election Commission (CEC) was legal.

As reported by official representative of the party at the CEC,
lawyer of Pavlenko & Poberezhnyuk Law Group Oleksandr Pavlenko, the
Higher Administrative Court pronounced such a ruling on an appeal of a
parliamentary candidate from the Our Ukraine Party, Artem Hluschenko,
against the CEC’s decision following an eight-hour hearing. The ruling
of the court is final and not subject to appeal.

By this appeal Hluschenko disputed a relevant ruling of Kyiv
Administrative Court of Appeals dated August 17 on his lawsuit against
the CEC regarding the lawfulness of the registration of Shevchenko as a
parliamentary candidate, reads a press release of the law group.
