You're reading: Lawyer Korol says he still intends to defend Volha

Lawyer Oleh Korol, who was withdrawn from the defense of former Head of the State Commission for Financial Service Markets Regulation Vasyl Volha, is planning to petition for his readmission to the case.

"My contract with Volha is still in effect, and we will petition again on my admission to the defense," he said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Korol stressed that the legislation does not rule out the readmission of a person to the work on a criminal case.

According to Korol, this is the first time a lawyer has been withdrawn from a case at this stage.

The lawyer also said he would claim to the High Council of Justice against Pechersky District Court Judge Viktoria Harkava, who, according to him, decided to withdraw him from Volha’s defense and did not admit him to a court sitting, during which it was ruled Volha should be placed in custody.
