You're reading: Leader of Lviv nationalists charged with stirring up unrest during Yanukovych’s visit

A criminal case has been opened against head of the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union's faction in Lviv Regional Council Iryna Sekh, the party's press service reported on Monday.

According to the party’s press service, Sekh is charged with organizing mass disturbances of public order during the visit of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to Lviv.

The case was opened under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (mass disturbance of public order).

The Criminal Code envisages punishment by a fine of up to 50 non-taxable minimum incomes, or up to six months of arrest.
