The head coach of FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Mircea Lucescu, is looking forward to being discharged from the university clinic in Bucharest but still does not know when doctors will allow him to leave the hospital.

"I feel much better. Especially in comparison with my previous condition. I even can say that I feel good! I’m [still] in the recovery phase right now, but I hope to return home soon," he told the press service of the football club.

Lucescu also said that he often talks by phone to his assistant at FC Shakhtar, Oleksandr Spyrydon, Director General Serhiy Palkin and the medical service of the club, as well as President of FC Shakhtar Rinat Akhmetov.

Lucescu said that this was the first time in his life that he has been in a car accident. He is planning to drive again in future.

"Of course I will drive. Why not? Isaw that tram. The tram driver also saw me. I was sure that he was going to stop," he said.

On Jan. 6, Lucescu had a car accident in Bucharest, in which he injured his chest and broke several ribs. On Jan. 8 he underwent surgery.
