Former Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko has appealed to the European Court of Human Rights against his arrest.

"We’ve appealed to the European Court of Human Rights against Yuriy Lutsenko’s detention and illegal arrest," Lutsenko’s lawyer Ihor Fomin said on the Fifth Channel on Wednesday evening.

The lawyer added that the appeal to the European Court contains the same statements made in appeals to Ukrainian courts.

Fomin also said that he is working on an appeal to the European Court against the illegal detention of Former Deputy Ukrainian Justice Minister Yevhen Korniychuk.

"I don’t have a ruling from the Court of Appeals of Kyiv, which has to be attached to the appeal, which is why the appeal to the European Court has not been sent yet," he said.
