You're reading: Mediators report Russian position on Crimea not categorical

Mediators have been sending us a message which gives hope the conflict between Ukraine and Russia over the situation in Crimea will be settled, Ukraine's Acting Foreign Minister Andriy Deschytsia said.

“I think there have been signs which are giving us a hope. We did not sit down and talk to Russians but we were able to pass our message through the mediators: the Russian position is not categorical, they are accepting and thinking over this proposal, so there is some hope. But it is too soon to say what this proposal is,” he said at a briefing on Saturday.
