Moscow – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has proposed to Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov to taste Ukrainian cheese jointly with Russia's Chief Sanitation Doctor Gennady Onishchenko.

"I haven’t eaten it for ages, but I’ll taste it. We’ll sit three together – me, you and Onishchenko – and will taste [cheese] together," Medvedev said at a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azarov on May 26, 2012.

The Ukrainian premier invited Russian colleagues to Ukraine promising a warm welcome

The Russian premier added: "With salo? [cured slabs of fatback rarely pork belly]"

Azarov said that Vladimir Putin criticized salo in due time.

"I did not criticize. We criticized nothing. Our services did criticize," the Russian president said.

The Ukrainian premier said: "We improved it. We have the best salo."

"Without cholesterol," Medvedev added.

Last week Rospotrebnadzor lifted a ban on supplies of Ukrainian cheese for four Ukrainian companies. Later Onishchenko said that Ukrainian cheese will be imported into Russia in small shipments.
