Berlin – German Chancellor Angela Merkel hopes for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict but understands that serious differences have yet to be overcome, Western media reported on Feb. 12.
Serious obstacles still remain on the way to the settlement, Merkel said in the wake of the Minsk talks.
The Minsk agreements give hope for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, she said, noting that she has no excessive illusions in this regard.
