You're reading: Mohyliov promises equal opportunities for Crimean residents of all nationalities

Crimean Prime Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov has that he believes that now he has a greater amount of work than he had while serving as interior minister.

"It’s a much greater amount of work that I was given today. There are a little less than 300,000 police in Ukraine, while almost two million people live in Crimea. Of course, the amount of work is greater, and I will have a lot more to take care of than before. I think that this is a new amount of work that I was given by the president and the Crimean parliament," he told journalists after his appointment, when asked whether he sees his appointment as promotion or demotion.

Mohyliov noted that the Crimean government would do everything it can to provide equal opportunities for Crimean residents of all nationalities living on the peninsula.

"I think that all residents of Crimea of all nationalities, if they live by the law, should have every opportunity to realize themselves. And the Crimean government should ensure the equal development of all nationalities in Crimea. Crimea is a multi-national republic," Mohyliov said.

He also said that he intended to fight violations in the land sector in Crimea, as previously mentioned by the Ukrainian president.

Mohyliov noted that many criminal cases concerning violations in the land sector in Crimea were opened in 2010 and 2011.

"I think the most important criterion in this area is that the norms of the current law must be observed. If they are observed, then there will be no problems, while those who violate them will be held to account," he said.
