You're reading: Moscow urges Ukraine Contact Group to meet as soon as possible

Moscow believes that the Trilateral Contact Group looking for a peaceful solution to the conflict in south-eastern Ukraine should meet again as soon as possible, a Russian diplomatic source told Interfax.

“Beyond any doubt, we want it [a meeting of the Contact Group] to take place. Last time it was disrupted by Kyiv,” the source said.

“The implementation of the Minsk agreements largely depends on the successful work of the Contact Group. Obviously, they cannot do without it,” he said.

“It is the Minsk agreements that have received curious interpretations from Western states,” the source said.
